Training Local Stakeholders

Administrative and customary authorities, technical services, and local government representatives attended the training session in Dosso. These participants engaged in discussions regarding practical applications of flood risk management within their respective jurisdictions. The training targeted local actors involved in flood risk management, including administrative and customary authorities, technical services, and local government representatives. By bringing these diverse groups together, the DGPC sought to bridge the gap between policy formulation and grassroots execution during periods of high precipitation. The curriculum aimed to equip these local actors with standardized protocols for emergency response and prevention strategies during the rainy season.

The training sessions were structured to address the specific geographical challenges faced by the Dosso region. Participants reviewed maps, hydrological data, and historical flood patterns to better understand the vulnerabilities of their communities. Through interactive modules, attendees practiced the implementation of early warning systems and evacuation procedures designed to minimize human and material losses. The collaborative nature of the workshop encouraged the exchange of information between technical experts and those with deep knowledge of local terrain and social structures.

Lieutenant Moussa Djibo Aboubacar participated in the event as the representative of the Director General of Civil Protection.
