Allegations and Leadership Recognition

The Organisation d’Appui à la Sécurité, au CNSP et aux Forces de défense et de sécurité du Niger (OAS) has requested Nigeriens, supporters of the CNSP, and leaders of the Nigerien defense and security forces to back a proposal to elevate President Abdourahmane Tiani to the rank of Marshal, the highest military distinction. Abdoulaye Harouna, a retired journalist and president of OAS, claims that terrorist attacks in Niger are part of a vast plot orchestrated by the French Republic against Niger. Harouna alleges this plot is carried out with the support of individuals nostalgic for the organization of Saharan regions. OAS stated it is "pleinement disponible pour la mobilisation nationale et l’opérationnalité de ses membres à relever le défi de la guerre aux impérialistes et à leurs sous-traitants de l’intérieur et de l’extérieur."
