Tillabéri Region Launches Key Primary Education Exams

Colonel Maïna Boukar, Governor of the Tillabéri Region, officially launched the written exams for the CFEPD (Certificat de Fin d'Études du Premier Degré) and CEPE/FA (Certificat d'Études Primaires Élémentaires / Franco-Arabe), Session 2026, in the region. The official launch ceremony for these key primary education exams was specifically held at École Kabia 1, marking the formal commencement of the assessment period. The Tillabéri region registered a significant number of participants, with 36,329 candidates preparing for these primary education assessments. Colonel Boukar seized the opportunity to offer words of encouragement and guidance to the young students. He stated, "We have come to wish you good luck and to encourage you. What we will ask of you is, first of all, to remain calm, to be serene, to read the tests carefully and understand them before attempting them. Do not rush. The time allotted to you must be used judiciously. The work is individual; everyone must concentrate on their own paper. It's not difficult, it's what you have learned throughout the year." He further added, emphasizing the broader expectations, "The Minister counts on you, all of Niger counts on you. Do good work. Good luck and good courage." His remarks showed the importance of the exams and the collective hope for the candidates' success.

The full examination process in the Tillabéri region caters to a diverse group of students. A total of 3,725 candidates are specifically registered to take the Franco-Arab exam across the Tillabéri region, reflecting the linguistic and educational diversity within the area. These candidates, along with all others, are meticulously distributed among 156 examination centers established throughout the region specifically for these assessments. Ensuring a smooth start to the examination period, all 156 examination centers have commenced operations as planned. Reports confirm that all candidates concerned have successfully reported to their designated centers to participate in the primary education exams. This strong logistical arrangement ensures that all registered students, regardless of their specific exam stream, can sit for their respective examinations without undue delay or disruption, noting the careful planning undertaken by the education authorities.

Governor's Inspection Tour

The official launch of the primary education assessments took place on Monday, June 22, 2026, setting the stage for the examination period. To personally oversee the initial phase of this critical process and ensure its integrity, Governor Maïna Boukar conducted an extensive inspection tour of several examination centers across the region. His itinerary included visits to key educational establishments such as École franco-arabe, École des filles, and École Sakoira. The primary purpose of these inspections was to ensure the smooth running of the exams from the very first day and to directly observe the conditions under which candidates were taking their tests. Governor Boukar's visible presence aimed to confirm that all logistical arrangements were functioning as planned, that the examination environment was conducive to learning, and that students could complete their examinations without any form of disruption.
