The Birni Garçons school was established in 1904 and became operational from 1910, making it one of the oldest educational institutions in the region. The Regional Director of National Education reported that the institution, despite its rich historical heritage, is currently in an advanced state of disrepair. The school boasts a distinguished list of notable alumni, including former President of the Republic Mahamane Ousmane, President Baré Mai Nassara, and André Salifou, further emphasizing its historical significance and contribution to national leadership.

Currently, Birni Garçons school enrolls 457 students, reflecting its continued role in providing education to the local community. Among these students, 57 are in situations of handicap, with 7 of them being girls, showcasing the school's inclusive approach to education. Significantly, all 7 girls with handicaps at Birni Garçons school achieved a 100% success rate in the examinations, a testament to their resilience and the support systems in place. This exceptional performance shows the potential within the school that rehabilitation efforts aim to further nurture.
